Accutane is just the brand name for the drug called isotretinoin.
Although it has been effective for some in the treatment of sever acne,
the risks far outway the benefits. Serious side effects include severe
birth defects, liver damage, nosebleeds, intestinal and urinary
infections, depression, and even thoughts of suicide, dry peeling skin,
headaches, skin rashes, muscle pain, joint pain and irritated eyelids.
If you’re dermatologist is advising you to use accutane, please consider
some of the alternative methods included on our home page.
With all of these very serious risks, Accutane still has less than 60%
success rate.
